Dear Friends,
I am excited to welcome Timothy Winchell, who joins our Parish Staff as Business Manager. As you know, his role is to support the parish's ministries by helping us be good stewards of the goods he entrusted us.
Please join me in welcoming Tim to St. Matthew! Tim will start working full-time on February 24. When you get a chance, please stop by to welcome him and introduce yourself.
Tim wrote this little note for you all:
“I am grateful to Father Gonzalez for asking me to serve as the next business manager for St. Matthew Parish and School. In doing so, I hope to help Fathers Gonzalez, Guzman, and Rodriguez manage Parish affairs while supporting Principal Jost, staff colleagues, Parish Councils, and all committees. Working together, I am confident we can execute the pastoral plan, including its strategic direction and priorities focused on community, education/ communication/evangelization, and liturgy/prayer.
My professional and academic experiences have forged my interest in working for the Parish and School. Its community resembles several of the parishes where I attend liturgy now.
Growing up, my family belonged to a vibrant Catholic community, parish, and school. My parents sacrificed greatly to provide my siblings and me with a Catholic education through high school. This ethical foundation and its servant-minded leadership instruction led me to pursue a public service career, most recently as a college administrator and earlier as a Washington peace officer.
Along the way, I earned my doctoral and graduate degrees in public administration from Portland State University and the University of Washington, respectively. My studies built on my contemporaneous public safety service and my earlier graduate and undergraduate work at California State Universities, Sacramento and Long Beach.
I look forward to learning more about the Parish through you—its parishioners, volunteers, and the community members we seek to assist. In pursuit of this goal, I hope you will drop by to introduce yourself and offer any ideas you may have to help us multiply our impact. The coffee is always on (or we will find some)!
As we begin this new chapter in our Parish community, I ask for your continued prayers.
Sincerely, Timothy Winchell”
Please join me in prayer:
Loving God, in your love for us, you sent your Son to be our Shepherd and Leader.
You continue to show Your love for us by sending us servant leaders to care for your people.
Bless Tim as he assumes the responsibility of Business Manager. Guide him in his work, fill him with patience and love, and let your Spirit of wisdom and understanding be with him, giving him joy and peace in his heart.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son, in the love of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
