Make arrangements a minimum of 6 months prior to the desired wedding date for those wishing to get married at St. Matthew Catholic Church. We have no fees for couples planning to get married in our parish. However, a donation to our parish is recommended. The wedding coordinator and musicians have a fee.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Call Fr. Mario Rodriguez Garcia, MSpS. Make an appointment with Fr. Mario before you make a reception hall or wedding date reservation. 2. Updated Baptism Certificate. Must be reissued from the original parish within 6 months prior to the wedding date and should have the notations of all other sacraments Received 3. Four Witnesses. You have to present Two for the bride and two for the groom. 4. Marriage Preparation Classes. In the process, we will let you know the way to do it, the times, and the places. 5. Wedding Coordinator. The couple will have one or two meetings to agree on the details of the ceremony (readings, criteria for photos, flowers and what the church asks of them, and rehearsal of the ceremony). 6. Marriage License. Must present a valid Oregon marriage license three weeks prior to the wedding date. If there is already a civil marriage, we will need a copy of your civil marriage certificate to see the corresponding canonical case for your case. 7. Sacrament of Reconciliation. For Catholics, receiving the sacrament prior to your marriage is a time to reconcile with God and enter into marriage as selflessly and spiritually healed as possible. Recommended a week before the wedding date.
