What Would It Take?
What would it take to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit?
After hearing St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians, which rings with authority, his prayers of thanksgiving and exaltation of the Love of the Father for the Son and for us, His Body the Church …
After the continuous unfoldment of God's power and might, His wisdom, love, beauty, joy, victory, revealed to us as it was to the Psalmist by the Spirit of Truth …
After every conceivable and inconceivable gift God the Father has given us, including His Own Beloved Son to die on a cross to save us, who rose from the dead, who continues to feed us daily with His own Body and Precious Blood, and who leads us home to the Father to be one with Him in Spirit and Life forever …
With praise springing out of the mouths of babes and infants! (Like the angels, they can't help themselves ...)
What would it take?
Only a complete denial of His Love! Only an annihilation of one's deepest desire! A steel wall, a dead stone, a blind refusal!
Oh, friends, let us bless the Lord with thanksgiving! Let us raise up our eyes, our arms, our minds to Him who is so good! Let us invite the Holy Spirit, the Loving Comforter, to help us praise Him with our hearts, with our whole being!
What is there to fear from anyone, when His mercy endures forever? Rest assured: He is with us yesterday, today and forever. He will always help us if we call out to Him.
Let us continue to honor and glorify the Holy Spirit, who is the very Love between the Father and the Son.
