This ministry links our parish to people within our county who come to harvest crops. It is a beautiful way in which parishes can share their Catholic faith and talents with others and in turn be blessed by the migrant people.
Migrant ministry is beginning its 15th year this summer. We are a small, ever changing group that makes weekly visits to a local farm to help serve the needs of its workers.
We strive to bring friendship and fun to our weekly visits along with supplying some basic needs. We meet on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm at the Pastoral Center to load groceries, gamers, crafts, and supplies. Our visits continue weekly throughout the summer until the first week of September. We are always in need of people to donate supplies, help with the preparations, or join us in visits. Right now we are in need of dishes, pots/pans, flatware, bedding, towels, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and some baby care products. You can bring your donations to the parish office.
If you would like more information, call Beth Butterwegge at 693-6637 or Maggie Stopka at the parish office. As always thank you for your generous response and keep us and the farm workers in your prayers this summer.
